CES Corporate Lab Calgary, Alberta CES is proud to own and operate the largest drilling fluids lab in Canada, staffed by senior scientists, chemists, and technicians dedicated to solving problems and developing innovative solutions for our clients. We opened this state-of-the-art facility in the fall of 2015. In addition to this, our sister company, PureChem, provides us access to one of the most sophisticated Corrosion Development Labs in the country. We are also one of the few labs in Western Canada with the ability to perform H2S corrosion testing. Our advanced facilities, combined with the expertise of our team, have helped us develop patentable solutions for our clients. The UMT TriboLab system is built on the Universal Mechanical Test (UMT) platform from Bruker. The Canadian Energy Services Bruker unit is the only industry exclusive advanced tribology tester in North American drilling fluids laboratories.

  • Is a modular design allowing different test configurations.
  • Substantially improved performed differentiation between lubricants in a given fluid.
  • Excellent reproducibility.
  • Measures frictional force directly instead of calculating from the electrical current used.
  • Can establish the trends of lubricants in different fluids.
  • Can test consolidated rock-on-metal in addition to metal-on-metal.
  • Has a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Fine tunes the optimal lubricant and dosage for each fluid system.
